Drop-In Open Play Pickleball in Greater Phoenix
Open play with a paddle rotation system
Open play at Dink & Dine Pickle Park is drop-in pickleball for every skill level. Grab a spot in CourtReserve, check in at the front desk, place your paddle in the rack, and rotate into fresh games with new players all session long. Drop-in sessions are $15, with evening play Monday through Thursday and midday play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
It is the easiest way to plug into the East Valley pickleball community. Come solo or bring your crew, play as many games as the session allows, then settle in for craft drinks and food from our chef-driven kitchen. That is the whole idea here: come for the game, stay for the night.
Open Play Questions, Answered
Open play sign-up and skill level FAQs
What is open play pickleball?
Open play is a social, rotating format where players drop in, form games as courts open up, and mix with different partners and opponents throughout the session. It is a great way to meet people, get more court time, and keep the energy moving.
How much does open play cost at Dink & Dine?
Drop-in open play is $15 per session. Members may have open play included in their plan: the Individual Full Court Membership includes free open play every day, and Workday Dinks includes 50% off open play. See membership options for details.
Do I need a partner to play?
Come solo. Open play is designed for individual players to show up, rotate in, and meet new people on the court. Plenty of regulars started exactly that way.
What skill levels can join open play?
Sessions are organized by level so every game has the right pace: Beginner to Intermediate, Intermediate to Advanced, Advanced 3.5+, and all-levels sessions like the Monday Night Social and Indoor Midday Play. Brand new to the game? Start with a beginner session or a beginner-friendly clinic.
How does the paddle rotation work?
Place your paddle in the rack to hold your place in line. The next four paddles form the next game, so be ready to step on court when your group is up. Games are played to 11, win by 1, and may be shortened to 9 points when players are waiting.
How do I sign up for an open play session?
Create a free CourtReserve account, choose your session, and register online. Popular sessions like the Monday Night Social fill up every week, so reserve your spot early. You can also see every session on our pickleball events calendar.
What should I bring to open play?
Bring court shoes and your paddle. Need gear? Paddles are available to rent or buy at the front desk Pickleball Check-in, and balls are $4 each.
Can I eat and drink while I play?
Yes. Food and drinks are welcome courtside, so you can order from our full menu between games. Keep beverages secure and away from play areas, and the good times roll on.
